Author description

Denis grew up in Motueka, a small country town, by the seaside in New Zealand - in the South Pacific. After graduating as a Pharmacist he worked for a few years in Wellington city where he met Joan (a Math Graduate). They married and moved back to Motueka, bought a pharmacy and raised four kids. Denis loved getting out into the hills, tramping (hiking), mountain climbing and sailing in the local Bay. He became a scout leader in the Motueka scout group; was very active running 12 camps, hiking expeditions, raft races and more, every year. Denis and Joan also became active in a local church.Business prospered; after 20 years in business, they decided to change direction, moved to Auckland city and retrained at Bible college. They then volunteered for missionary service. Denis considers the next 20 years were the best of his life as he traveled and worked in many countries alongside people of many nationalities.Time came for retiring, no; for re-firing! He retrained as a writer and is now writing exciting children's adventure books. He loves writing; drawing on years of experience in the mountains, camping out in wilderness areas and rafting down rivers, as well as traveling and working in 15 countries. His Life's philosophy is: 'Life is a great adventure - and is to be enjoyed to the full every day'.
